Empowering Children Through Character Development
Helping children build resilience, confidence, and emotional control — for school, for home, and for life.
What Is This
Champions Character is a personal development course for children. We use martial arts as the vehicle to teach the principles in The Leader In Me like focus, confidence, and positive behaviour — built from the inside out.
How It Works
Through adapting the The Leader In Me, we can provide structured lessons, clear routines, and positive role models, children learn how to manage emotions, stay focused, and believe in themselves — in class and in life.
Where To Go
Champions Character is delivered in schools and professional martial arts academies — supporting children during the school day and after school, in safe structured settings. Classes are fun and engaging for everyone.
Where Champions Character Comes From
Champions Character is rooted in the timeless principles of Stephen R. Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and the internationally recognised Leader in Me philosophy.
Leader in Me is built on the idea that real change starts with mindset — when children change the way they see themselves, their behaviour and results naturally improve. As facilitators of the programme, we saw first-hand how powerful these principles are.
The challenge was not what to teach, but how to teach it within short, weekly sessions.
Through a necessary paradigm shift, we reshaped these same fundamental principles and use martial arts as the vehicle to teach them in a practical, engaging way.. By embedding leadership, responsibility, and self-control directly into training, we are able to deliver these life-ready principles in a fun, engaging, and highly practical way for students.
As the founder of karate, Gichin Funakoshi, famously said:
“The ultimate aim of karate lies not in victory or defeat, but in the perfection of the character of its participants.”
That belief sits at the heart of Champions Character.
